As a result, members can choose between our Debit & ATM card to access their credit union checking or saving accounts. Remember, to avoid the banking industries ATM surcharge fees, use non-surcharging credit union owned ATMs. The No-Surcharge logo is your assurance that, as a credit union owned ATM, there is no surcharge or access fee for using it.

WAYS TO AVOID OR REDUCE THE EXPENSE OF ATM SURCHARGES

• Look for the NO Surcharge logo on credit union owned ATMs.
• Use your ATM or Debit Card to make purchases at point-of-sale (POS) terminals at most gas stations, grocery stores, and department stores. Plus, many grocery and department stores provide cash back upon request.
• Organize spending habits to reduce the number of ATM withdrawals (i.e., Make larger withdrawals to reduce your visits; use your debit card to make purchases instead of cash).

Debit & ATM CARD SERVICES

Debit card’s look like a credit or ATM card, but operate like a personal check. Debit cards are NOT the same thing as credit cards. A credit card transaction creates a loan obligation, while a check card transaction is drafted directly from your WSFCU checking account.

In addition to being convenient, the debit card is a secure way to pay. It frees you from the problems associated with carrying a large amount of cash or the hassles of writing checks. Debit & ATM cards are accepted through the VISA network at many merchant locations, including grocery stores, retail stores, department stores, gasoline stations, and restaurants. You can even get cash back at many locations. Purchases made through the VISA network will be automatically deducted from your checking account after approximately three business days. Your statement will detail the amount of each purchase along with the merchant’s name and location...much more information than you get from writing a check!

Unlike a typical ATM card, a Debit card can be used to make purchases with only a signature if done as a Credit transaction! A PIN is not required to use the Debit card anywhere VISA is accepted (credit transactions only). For security reasons you will need to keep the possession of your Debit card protected at all times. There is NO CHARGE for credit transactions made through the VISA network. Initial Debit & ATM cards are provided FREE OF CHARGE. There is NO MONTHLY FEE and NO ISSUE FEE associated with our Check 24 & ATM card. If you lose or damage your Debit or ATM card, there is a small fee for card replacement .

If your Check 24 & ATM card is lost or stolen please call 1-800-554-8969 immediately to keep unauthorized transactions from occurring. Your Check card also serves as your ATM card.
